Geoffrey Pearson (1927-), son of Lester B. Pearson, diplomat and author, was educated at the University of Toronto and at Oxford University. He joined the Department of External Affairs of Canada in 1952 and has served in a wide range of senior assignments in the Department. In late 1983, Mr. Pearson was appointed as a Special Representative of the Prime Minister for Arms Control. He was the first Executive Director of the Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security from 1985 to 1989. He is the author of Seize the Day: Lester B.
